About 'Joan' Qiong Wang
‘Joan’ Qiong Wang is a board-certified family and primary care nurse practitioner at Prima Medicine in Fairfax and South Riding, Virginia. Joan has over 20 years of clinical nursing experience, working with diverse patients, from HIV/AIDS patients to those in intensive care units. With each patient, Joan seeks to bring compassion into every interaction.
Joan received her nursing diploma in 1997 from Hangzhou Normal University in Hangzhou, China. After graduation, she traveled to the Philippines to complete her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing at Adventist University of the Philippines in 2002.
Following her bachelor’s degree, she pursued her Master’s of Public Health (with a central focus on Health Promotion) at Adventist International Institute of Advanced Studies,Master’s of Science in Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) at Loma Linda University, as well as her Post-Master’s Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) Certification through George Washington University.
Through continuing education, Joan strives to learn at every chance that allows her to better the lives of her patients. She is a member of the Virginia Council of Nurse Practitioners and the American Association of Nurse Practitioners.
At Prima Medicine, she has a special focus on preventive health and evidence-based medicine. Joan is truly dedicated to her patients’ overall health, and works hard to ensure they maintain excellent wellness across a lifespan.
